Math can be difficult for all learners, particularly difficult for those with learning differences. The language of math, the concepts involved, and the ability to transfer these skills into practical applications and experiences perplexes many learners. Multi-sensory approaches teach these skills and allow students and adults to master the concepts and apply them using the strategies taught.
The Discover Math program can be used with early learners to teach them basic skills and concepts and used with students and adults so that they learn to rely on their abilities rather than the conventional calculator. Although the calculator has its place in mathematics, students should be encouraged to develop positive habits and strategies to assist them.
